Trout Can See UV Light

Trout have the ability to see ultraviolet (UV) light, which is invisible to the human eye. This ability helps them see patterns and insects that might otherwise be difficult to detect. Some anglers use UV-sensitive fly patterns, which can stand out more clearly to fish, especially in deeper or murky water. UV materials in the fly’s body or wings can mimic the iridescence seen in many natural insects.
